Toray Kusumgar Advanced Textile Private Limited (TKAT) was estblished in September, 2014 jointly with Kusumgar Corporates private limited, which manufactures and sells airbag fabrics for automobiles.
In January 2018, Toray India (TID) opened its regional headquarter in Chennai to oversee the construction of 2 new plants in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Toray India will produce Polypropylene spun bond products for diapers and sanitary napkins, which take advantage of the material's combination of excellent wicking, softness, high uniformity and light weight. The second plant shall produce compounded Engineered Plastics Resins for automotive, white goods and industrial segments.
